Does anyone know if part of the receiver is plastic like the R770 or is it metal?

So no plastic around the bolt? Yay.

May have to look at one, how would you say it stacks up to a R700?

Can the bolt be cycled quickly? Is it smooth?

Cock on open or on close?

Its a very smooth rifle i wouldnt say its better than a 700 but i have my 700 in .308 so i cant really compare. Put some good glass on it and youll love it. They also send you a free shell holder/cheek riser. But make sure you break it in properly to seat that nut. Idk i like it..but its my first 30/06 if you dont count my garand that i never shoot :/

One last question that I probably already know the answer to.

Does it come in a cardboard box or a hardcase?
