Ruger No.1 45-70 rechambered to .450 Nitro Express?
Would there be any problems with getting a Ruger No.1 in 45-70 rechambered to .450 Nitro Express 3.25''? also anyone know of any good places to find one of the Boddington Ruger No.1s that cameout in .450NE a couple of years ago? Thanks.

I don't know where you could get one of the pre made rugers in 450 nitro like you suggest

ed but you could easily have a 4570 model converted to 450 nitro considering they are both .45 caliber, so all you or a custom gunstore or gunsmith would need to do would be to "beef up" the reciever and redo/modify the chamber.

they had a special run of them made back around 2010 called the Boddington series.

I had one chambered to 45-110. You can push that round to match about anything you like. It is easy to do and the brass is easy to get. If you want more go for the 45-120.
The recoil with the 550 gr. bullet gas checked over smokless or Trip 7 is very heavy.:(

You can load that 45/70 very hot in that #1. Or you see many chambered in .458 Win.

how much more expensive would it be to get the rifle completely rebarreled to .450NE? i won't settle for anything other than a Nitro Express cartridge because i like them very much because of the history with them and other things. anyway all the No.1s in 45-70 i can find have a 22'' barrel and i want a longer barrel. so how much more would it cost to get the rifle rebarreled? also would it have a better chamber if it was rebarreled since the chambered would be designed for the Nitro Express to begin with instead of just bored out? Thanks for any info because although i love guns and have been collecting them for years i know very little about this area of guns.
