Ruger Mini-30 Ammo

The ammo for the mini-30 can be a problem since it has a 308 barrel. I would personally not shoot foreign ammo since it usually has a bullet of 310 or 311 in a 308 barrel. Firing ammo with a larger bullet diameter will cause increased pressure and barrel wear. This is a statement of my opinion.

In the beginning, the Mini-30 had a squeeze bore. It tapered down gradually to .308 to keep the pressures from building.

In the mid-'90s, the bore was switched to .310" diameter.
