Ruger M77s in 6.5x55 available.

I was wandering around the 24 hour campfire and found a post that got a bit of interest. Apparently a distributor had a stock of these discontinued Rugers that they want to clear out.
Here is the pertinent info:
Williams Shooters Supply in Quincy, IL.

800-637-9307 - Order line 217-222-4195 - Information line 217-222-1061 - Fax info@willshoot.com - email address

Item # R7895 - $439 plus shipping and 3% CC or COD fees.

Your dealer will need to contact Williams and set up an account, simply by sending them a cover letter and a signed copy of his FFL, for their files.

They are blued CM steel, with satin walnut stock, a simple classic rifle in an excellent caliber. At last check there were around 25 left. My dealer is going to order mine first thing Monday when William's opens. I would advise anyone else to get their order in too, they will not last at that price!

BTW, I am not affiliated with William's, nor is anyone in my family. I am not an FFL, nor do I play one on TV. I'm just trying to pass along a great deal.

That is awesome. Since the M77 is a classic 98 action, you can hot rod them a bit if you reload. Rugers can be hit or miss accuracy wise, but it seems when the do make a limited run of a caliber, they are superb.

WOW! a Ruger in 6.5x55. and at that price, that's a good deal. i would like to have one myself. i might have to check with my dealer and see about ordering one. i have been wanting a bolt action in that caliber for about a year now.

thanks 7x57 for posting this information. much appreciated.

You would have the perfect Piggy and whitetail rifle.

JP, i'm thinking a very accurate and light recoiling target rifle!:D

i shot a Winchester M70 in 6.5x55 last year, and really liked it a lot. very nice shooting rifle. so much so that decided i wanted one. been sort of keeping my out out for since then.

Allegedly these aren't a limited production thing, these were catalogued until a few years ago, but the typical American ignorance for a metric caliber caused Ruger to drop them.
This would be an ideal pig and whitetail rifle, I have killed a couple whitetails in Nebraska with one, and it did the job admirably. As for pigs, a 140 grain Partition or similar type of bullet would do well. I may have to check back in some old Ruger catalogs, but these should be a 1 in 9" twist, which is about perfect for the 140 grain weights.

If anyone didn't grab one when they had the chance, I've heard some @$$hole has one of these for sale on gunbroken.com for 33% more than they sold for. A good example of why one should stay away from that website.
