Nice. Tell me how it goes. I like to have my firearms to have options.

I just received the Ruger Gunsite Scout. Nice rifle. The sights that came with it are good but it's a pain getting a good sight picture. I'm thinking of putting a red dot scope on instead of a long eye relief scope. What do ya think?

It makes perfect sense. Cooper invented the scout rifle as the one to own IF you could own just one. That is an artificial scenario for most of us. There are better choices for precision shooting. A red dot for fast off hand work should make the Ruger more fun.

With the right dimension on the offset rail you can have a good quality Variable Power Rifle Scope for longer distance and precise shot placement. And also mount an EOTech MRDS unit on the side on the offset mount for close quarters engagement! Best of all worlds.
