Ruger 77/44 bolt action - who has one?

I have been very impressed with the Ruger bolt action 44 magnum carbine. Not much bigger than a 10/22, seems like the perfect solution to my brush gun search.

Anybody have experience with these, or the 44 magnum for hunting?

honestly i have seen very few over the years. very few. i have handled a couple at gun shows and a gun store, but have never shot one. does seem interesting though. like to hear more about them.

No but I have wanted one for years, would make for the perfect little brush gun with some 240-300gr JHPs, have not seen many, and the few I have seen were not for sale. 44 mags are plenty enough for close ranged deer hunting, mind you they are less likely to "bang flop" them as some rifle rounds due to the lower speeds but if you do have to track nothing says blood trail like a 44 caliber, except maybe a 45-70 :D
Pistol caliber carbines are loved by some because they don't make for much gunshot meat, the lower speed bullets just don't bruise the meat as bad as say a 270 or 7mm Rem Mag.

Cool -- I didn't even know they made one. How'd I miss this? Pics!
Wait -- is it tube fed? Now I gotta go research this...

You will pick 300-400 fps in the longer barrel. I have been trying to find one in 357. My other choice is the Marlin 1894C in 357. I want something I can put a low power optic on.
