I love my 995,thousands of rounds with no problems. The only problem with it was getting the new mags to feed(just a little tweaking with a pair of needle nose)and the fact that I have no 9MM pistol to share ammo.
I have .22,.25,.380,40 S&W,and .357mag but no 9MM.

I have had my 995 Camo Stock carbine for a few years now, and love it. Utterly reliable, pretty accurate (outshoots my M1 Carbine at 50 yards).
i have been eagerly awaiting the .45 Carbine - the 995 needs a Big Brother, and my Colt M1991A1 can use a bigger longer-ranged backup too.
A buddy has the .40SW caliber Hi-Point Carbine, and loves it. He much prefers the HP to the Kel-Tec Sub2000 that he also has. He only keeps the KT because it carries so easy on a motorcycle or backpack.
My one gripe - I wish Hi-Point made the .45 Carbine to take the 10 and 15 round .45ACP magazine for the Colt 1911.

I do not like HP pistols at all. The earlier carbines looked like they come from the Planet of the Apes. But they shot pretty good and the newer ones do too from what I'm told. I'd probably buy one if I seen one for sale and the money was in my pocket.

Better to be Black Labeled than Red Labeled!
And, if you like your Hi-Point, that's all that matters in my book.

I'd rather be "Blue Labeled".

to Angry_bald_guy: great, always a happy time when another gun owner becomes part of the HP family. I hope you find one soon and that you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

Doesn't that bottle cost more than the gun?
