Thats not really a sunshade. It's made to hide the glint off the glass of your scope so that it is not seen by others that can find you. For this it does work.
That being said, I have used this device. You don't see the lines from the honeycomb patterns and it does darken up the image and degrade resolution at distance just slightly. Don't know if it would be good for dawn/dusk situations. I don't really like it.
I ended up using shooting glasses that reduce light to eye by 80% for bright daylight conditions. This workes much better for me than a sunshade or this device to reduce eye strain..
