I have a few questions regarding the scope i would like to mount on to my Thompson Center Venture. If i put on a 3x9x50 Nikon Prostaff Scope will i need to buy high rise scope Rings? Or can i get away with medium rise? Also, I was looking into buying Leupold standard 1" rings and Leupold one peice base mounts. Your opinion on those? Thanks a lot

You WILL need high rings to mount a 50mm scope on your TC Venture. Have you thought about just going with a 40mm objective lens scope? The difference in "light gathering" is non-existant until you crank the scope up to 8-9 power. The reason for this is exit pupil. A 40mm scope turned at 8x will provide a 5mm exit pupil. The average human pupil will dilate to about 5mm in low light conditions. That means the only time a 50mm scope will appear to be brighter than a 40mm scope is when it's cranked up all the way in low light.
The Leupold bases/rings is top quality and will serve you well-not only your lifetime but your kids too.

Great advise on the 40mm vs 50mm. I had to have the latest and greatest so I bought a VXIII 4.5-14 x50 B&C Leupold and hated it. Couldn't even lean my rifle against a tree because the scope was so big. I sold it. Ken
