Default Rifle Range in NY

Not sure where to put this but,

Can any of you folks recommend an outdoor rifle range in southern NY? Preferably within 2 hours of NYC. I want to get my .308 broken in and start shooting her.

Thanks,

Darren

I went to ask.com, typed in (shooting ranges new york) and came up with the NRA's national registry.

It's will be listed under Shooting Range with the link www.nrahq/shootingrange

Appeared to be quite an extensive list in the New York area. I hope this helps, Hunter Joe

Blue Mountain in Peekskill. Don't have the number cause I moved from that area twenty years ago.

Thanks guys, I've been asking around locally with no luck at all. I guess nobody around here shoots rifles?

Hunter, you're suggestion woke me from a stupor. I tried the same approach on the NRA website and found 2 within 25 miles.

RL357, Blue Mountain is still there and they still have a 100yd rifle range.

So I hope to have my girl broken in and a range report soon.

Good luck Dog. I think you'll have a good time at Blue Mountain, just stay away from Burt Melamed, one of the Range masters - he's a real mall ninja on a power trip from what I remember.

I have been trying to get into one here in the Albany, NY area for awhile. I know of a couple but its a pain because they say you have to have to know someone that is already a member of that club and I do not . I just want to pay and be able to go shoot when I want, simple as that

Jason,
use the following link, plug in your zip/city or state and a radius. It will bring up NRA registered ranges. look for ones that are public and you won't need to know someone.

Find NRA Near You

I found 1 in Goshen, 1 in Chester and Blue Mountain is still operating in Peekskill. All are public, pay to shoot ranges. Good luck.
