the SPS took the place of the ADL. use to be you could get an ADL , BDL and CDL in wood stocks, now only way to get the wood stocked Remington is the BDL and the CDL. such a shame to, as i had several wood stocked ADL's over the years. i have one 204 Ruger synthetic stocked ADL, that is fixing to get a wood stock. MSRP on the cheapest SPS is over $700, with means about $550-650 at a dealer, still twice the cost of a Marlin X7 or Savage Axis. of course a person could do what i do, keep an eye out for them at the pawn shops and gun stores used. i picked up an older Remington ADL with an aftermarket walnut stock in 270 Win. a few months ago, for $360+ tax. refinished it, and now it looks better than brand new.
