So. Drove into Anchorage over the weekend to buy some ammo in anticipation of Tuesdays misfortune. At the shop they had one of the long awaited (by me) Remington double 45-70s on the wall. I looked at it briefly and was dismayed to find no dolls head, crossbolt, or any other secondary locking device. Has anyone out there shot one of these things? How firm is the lockup? Can one load it to Marlin levels? Will St Barak buy me one? Any info is much appreciated. Thanks. Luck for the next 4 years. Palin in '12.
