Both are great rifles, I prefer the Savage because it is easier for me to work on.

Savage, don't like the 700 for no reason at all.

Actually, Remington copied the Mauser and made it a push feed w/ a funky little button to eject. They also had to recess the bolt face to support the case head. Remington is the only manufacturer that uses a 3 piece bolt that is brazed, not the strongest. I prefer the Howa 1500 action, 1 piece milled and a flat bottom receiver.

The only Remington action that I own anymore is my 1903A3.
Can't argue one bit

I am not a Remington fan, but I don't think they have changed much in 40+ years.

The CZ 550 action is by far superior to any U.S. made factory action. I don't care for the Savage accutrigger, but it is the better overall rifle of the 2. JMHO.

They have, I used to own nothing but Remingtons, now I won't touch one, my last THREE have all been defective, as was my brother's R1. I have since sworn them off and now shoot Savages, Winchester, and Tikka. Remington sold out to CCM in Apr 2007, they have not been the same ever since. I used to work for a company CCM bought out and QC was the first thing to go, within two months they did away with customer surveys because they honestly did not care. So yes they have changed, alot in fact.

savage is a better rifle all round. easy easy easy to accurize not that really much has to be done to em out of the box and anything you do want to do can be done at home with some relatively cheap tools.

i had a savage 10 fcp-sr but the wife shot it and claimed it as hers....

here it is.

both are pushfeed action so there isnt much difference there.

Yeah that is a common problem with Savages, my sister in law shot her 1st 1/2" group with mine last time we all went to the range, I don't think I am getting that one back LOL. Just a plain jane black on black $386 package 110 30-06 from Wal-Mart (I did upgrade the scope and rings though) stupid thing shoots remarkably good, and has as good a recoil pad as I have ever seen, it tames max load 180gr 30-06 to the point a small framed female can shoot it comfortably.
