Go with the sps in 308, I love mine, you can't beat the out of the box accuracy you'll get. Here's my rifle after a few upgrades, and a a couple 5 shot groups at 100 with handloads

What did you do to upgrade that?

Bell Nd Carlson m40 style stock, I did the duracoat gap camo on it myself, wyatts drop in bottom metal with detach mag, harris s series bipod, egw 20 moa base, tps extra low rings, and a vortex viper 5-15x44 mil mil riflescope. Definitely took some time, and upgrading, but I finally have it where I want it, shoots one jagged hole at 100 with hand loads, and best I've done at 1000 is an 8.25 inch 5 shot group with handloads

I guess thats not bad, that viper scope is a little pricy, right?

The one I have is actually a midway exclusive, it had everything I was looking for in a long range riflescope, exposed turrets, mil mil adjustments, zero lock, mil dot reticle. They sell for 499.99 but sometimes midway does specials on them for 399.99.

That's what I said when I saw it, it has all the features and more of the higher dollar vipers, only thing its lacking is magnification, but im used to 10x anyways so it was a win win.since then I've put vortex optics on all my rifles including their red dot and spotting scope.even Leupold can't shake a stick at their warranty

I had to send a viper back. Mailed it out Monday and got the new one Friday!

Their warranty is amazing,customer service is great also. I contacted them because I was having trouble finding batteries for my sparc red dot and they sent me some for free
