I cant really tell the year, if a mod could move this to rifle section, then you'll get more answers.

Moved you over to rifles- and Axxe nailed it- Remington used a barrel code (2-3 LETTERS) to tell month and year of manufacture.

Can`t be very old, they only started building the 700`s in the early 60`s.............
