DefaultRem 700 magazine fed

Gents,
Looking to build up a 700 when I get home, starting with a 700 heavy bbl but I want to convert it to a magazine feed. I have read several articles about conversion, as we all know the disinformation on the www is rampant. I thought that one of the police models had a removeable mag, but I can't find any examples of one. Have any of you ever converted a 700? Have seen some that use M14 mags (this would be ideal for me). Thanks in advance.

I have seen these, but heard they were out of production. The more I read the more I learn that the mag versions may not be the way to go. Appreciate the info.

HillBilly - Brett has probably done a couple of hundred of them through the shop, and I have worked on maybe 3 or 4.

Is there something you are building the rifle for? Like a specific purpose? Scout Rifle perhaps?

The reason I ask is, traditionally, rifles shoot better long range if they don't have a magazine at all. Benchrest actions, for example, are all solid bottom, single feed style.

If you are really building from the ground up, and you want to get something factory, you should check out the Accuracy International AICS System
