Have you looked at the Sportsmans Guide - they generally have budget scopes from BSA, Barska, and their own brand, which BTW get good reviews...

Yep and he has fast shipping with no tariffs! Once your payments clears you'll have the scope in about a week!

I've got a lot from this seller, all good experiences!

Thanks Cane, I will definately keep that picture in my mind....as if I'm not in enough trouble!!

Found a scope!! Scope, mount & rings $535

Looked at Leopold, Burris and the Nikon and felt the Nikon was just a little brighter than the Burris and less expensive than the Leopold.

I know, but after the wife said why don't you just get what you want and then I started looking at lesser optics and one thing lead to another and before you know it I had a new scope and a run on sentence!!

Default Cheap Optics

I Don't know if your located close to any pawn shops, but before you throw away $100 on a scope you may never use again, you never know what you can find in some of those places and many don't know the difference between a Tasco and a Unertl.

About 15 years ago I walked into one of our largest sports center/pawn shop and noticed they had within the last week gotten in 2 rifles and over 200 boxes of bullets (I think from an estate sale) a Rem 40-X 22-250 and a Sako L461 short action 222, both with Unertl scopes. Made an offer on all of it. I don't remember what I paid, but you probably wouldn't believe me anyway. A bargain even though I did have both guns re-barreled. Sold over 100 boxes of the bullets to another gun dealer in another town about 35 miles away at twice what I paid for them.

A lot of what you find in pawn shops is junk, but every once in a while....... Still have both of the Unertls and I saw a 26" 2" aperture with calibrated head exactly like one I have being sold at an auction and the bid was at $1295 with a couple of days to go. (They have gone up substantially in value since Unertl Optics stopped making rifle scopes.)

Even I can get lucky once ever 20 years or so. But seriously, check the pawn shops out. Many of them have very little knowledge concerning the real value of quality firearms and accessories and you never know what you might run across.
