at no point did i call anyone names, none. i listed my reasoning for disagreeing with your opinion. IMO, i gave my reaons why your opinion did not hold merit or validity. my opinions, not fact and not proof, just and observed opinion. IMO, i also believe a blind mag rifle is a better choice, and this is based on my own experiances and thoughts. for a beginning or new hunter, not a veteran hunter, like yourself.

also different circumstances call for different approaches. my suggestions are based on what is best for the person, based on the information given. i don't have all the answers for every type of location, every rifle and every type of hunting. i try to learn something new everyday and generally do.

what i would suggest for one person, might not be the same suggestion i give another person, and this is based on many different factors, such as age, physical makeup of the person, their experiance with firearms in general, and many other things.

I recommend a mauser action rifle in .308. I know you can handle a .308. My 13 daughter can handle my CZ-550 with no problems. The mauser action is easy to use and very reliable. The gun is very, very accurate and fun to shoot. You can push the trigger forward to make it a set trigger. The safety is located next to your thumb for easy use, Young man, ask your parents for an awesome gift, a CZ-550.

Yep a Mauser action 308 is a good choice, I have a new Winchester 70 Featherweight 308 and I love it, the 7mm-08 260 Rem and their older ballistic twins are good choices too if you want a little lighter kicker rifle.

Wow.. This thread has gone bananas since I last posted to the OP lol.... I don't think he's even responded in here at all.
'Steel cuts flesh / steel cuts bone / steel does not cut steel.'

Become steel or get cut.
