Default Range distances

What is your favorite local shooting range distances?. Mine is 100 yards and to me it seems very far already. So far i shoot my AR & AK within 50 yards range for precision targets. By using those small 1" round yellow stickers. I havent shot my rifles for 100 yards range yet as i wanted to master my shots within 1" shots group. But i will one day . Will the .223 & 7.62x39 bullets can go that 100 yards distance?
As always.. sorry newbie questions.

Forgive me if I chuckled a little, my range is 800 yards. I haven't worked my rifle (Howa 300 WM) out that far, I'm only to 700 so far (that's 13 minutes on the elevation turret.)

What is it your trying to hit? Depending on your rifles, both rounds should easily shoot 100 yards. I've shot rabbits over 200 yards with a bolt action .223. I have no experience with the AK. I hear accuracy isn't really their thing.

Well from what I've learned is that a .223 or x39 round will zero out at 200 yards. And a 300 mag zeros at 600 yards. I've seen nice 2 inch groups with a savage bolt .223 at 300 yards. Happy shooting
