Default ranch hand .44 mag

i really need one of these ! Being it is a clone of the 92 win . is is possible to side mount some optics? THANKS .........I know the gun gurus in here will have the answer .

Isn't this that pistol class lever action rifle? I have a buddy who took one out last weekend and he hated it. He told me that the stock was way too short to be pushed into his shoulder and the grip was not conducive to accuracy due to the angle the pistol has to be held. I asked about them because I was considering one for backpacking animal defense. Once he told me how akward the thing can be I started looking elsewhere. He is a true gun nut and I trust his word pretty confidently.

yes ,its really a pistol...was wondering about a scope/red dot mount as it would be useful to get a quick shot at hogs from a 4 wheeler...or a ladder stand with no cross bar support

I wouldn't add an optic if it were me, I think it's pointless. A mares leg is a pistol, and I usually just shoot from the hip. Plus you wouldn't have the "wild west" look
