Question about a bullet
Hi all,
I have been shot in the leg but I don;t know the gun or anything about the shooter it was from far away.
I wonder what is the size of this bullet and what kind of the machine shoot this bullet and how far was the shooter, I believe he did not mean to shot me and it was a lost bullet or something lol
I have attached 3 photos for the bullet after they have removed it from my leg.
appreciate your help and any kind of information

Dang. Would love to hear the story behind this.
To those who are tempted to flame this guy. I've checked his IP location. What he describes is entirely feasible.
I'm going to guess an AK round.

Weigh the bullet. If it is in the 120 gr to 130 gr range - AK 7.62 X 39
140 gr to 150 gr range - 7.62 X 51 NATO
With out a ruler next to the bullet, best guess the AK

The distance had to be considerable for it not to have passed through your leg. My guess would be in the range of 2000 yards or more if it as an 7.62x39 which it appears to be. There are several rifles that shoot this caliber from bolt action to semi auto and even full auto. It is a very common round used world wide. The bullet you have pictured appears to be a full metal jacket boat tail of the type commonly used in the 7.62X39.

You are a lucky man!!
It looks to be a 7.62 or .30cal boat tail FMJ round it could be a 7.62x54r round.
I agree with JTJ that it had to be shot from a long distance away to not have taken your leg off.
If it is 150gr or up it has to be a 7.62x54r or .30-06 heavy ball FMJ round.

Interesting story. Probably some idiot that shot it, glad you're okay considering gunshot wounds.

Even a FMJ will have some mushrooming/deformation when it passes through solid building materials such as plywood, masonry or sheet metal. Once a bullet hits the human body it can go in any direction. All we can do is guess since we have very little information.
I hope you get well soon. Let the wound heal from the inside out. If the surface closes before the muscle tissue heals it will become infected, requiring more medical attention. I am not guessing on this one.
