Mow more yards,sell more plasma,etc!

If you buy a package gun, most of the time the scopes are just plain crap.

I'd rather have a $500 scope on a $100 gun,than a $100 scope on a $500 gun.
If you can't see it,you can't shoot it!

Haha I would but I'll be busy with college and my current job! Looks like I'm going to be saving for a little while and buying a better quality rifle. If i'm going to spend more money, I would LOVE something with a wood stock. Any ideas for this one? I know I can't go wrong with a R700.

I agree with the 7mm-08 cartridge.
I've been watching my son for the past 14 years filling deer tags with the 7mm-08,a very impressive short action cartridge.

yes the 7mm-08 is a wonderful cartridge. as much as i like the 243 and that's the first centerfire rifle i ever shot of my fathers and the one that i took some of my first deer with, if the 7mm-08 had been around, i think i would have gone with it instead. recoil is very similiar to the 243, but for deer sized critters, it has just a little more energy. in the right rifle, the 7mm-08 is perfect youth gun and also even the more experianced veteran shooter. the 7mm-08 is one of those cartridges that is almost perfect for just about any shooter, irregardless of their size, age, gender or shooting ability.

after buying my Marlin XS7 in 7mm-08 and shooting it, i fell in love! it's an accurate round, easy on shoulder for long range sessions and very easy to reload for.

The only one that takes a little patience is the SSS Competition trigger that I have in a couple of my rifle's,but they aren't the type of trigger you would put in any hunting rifle.
Its probably fine but I wouldnt recommend a newcomer buy an unknown when its not a huge savings to begin with.
