@Txhillbilly so basically I shouldn't get this one? Guess I'm back to square one haha. Maybe I'll pick up a American from Dicks Sporting Goods for $370 chambered in .270 WIN, unless there are any good used rifles that I should keep my eyes open for.
I'd pass on the Ruger,but that's my opinion.
If your wanting an entry level rifle that will last you for many years,and shoot great look at the Howa or Weatherby Vanguard (same rifle),Marlin XL series,Savage 10/110 or any of the other # series,Tikka T3,or Remington 700.
You can find some good deals on used rifles if you do your homework,and look around. Plus you can find some good deals on new rifles when they are on sale.
Boyds makes some excellent aftermarket laminated wood stocks,and they run around $100,so if you can find a deal on a Savage with the cheap plastic stock,just buy a new stock for it and you'll be good to go.
