Preferred .270win ammo

I wanted to get everyone's take on what their preferred .270 win ammo is for hunting soft skin game (white tail deer).

I have been shooting some cheap ammo that groups very good however I am concerned with the lack of data on bullet expansion and such.

I have a rifle chambered in .270 win with a 24 inch barrel and a 1:10 twist rate. Any suggestions as far as grain weight of the bullet and expansion qualities I should be looking at?

For deer there not many wrong bullets out there so long as bullet weight is 130 or 140gr. I hunting friend has use hornady ammo for years, 130gr sst for southern deer 140gr sst for large north deer and there interbond for elk hunts. But years ago he used winchester old 130gr soft point. heck we all used the basic soft points from different companies. Shoot a few and see what your rifles like best . keep of more expansive bullets off the shoulders.

I used Remington 130 grain Core-lokts for years. Worked great on both White-tails and Mulies. My 270 really liked them.

My buddy uses Hornady SST in his win 70 in 270. He loves them.

I dont know the exact specs of my .270, but I've used 130gr Remington Core-lokt PSPs and know they mushroom very well from the wound channels, and acutally had found one stuck in the hide. It had mushroomed beautifully and had excellent weight retention.

I have a Savage rifle in 270, and I have been using the 130 Remington core-lokt bullets for many years, and have never been disappointed. Seems to mushroom very well and leaves an impressive wound channel. Plus, my gun groups them very, very well.

for hunting i use Winchester supreme with Nosler 140gr Accubond.
Nickel cased Factory stuff..
hard pill heaps accurate in my rem700.
if i had to id use them for Elk, but theres no elk downunder ;)

in sayin that for general all round shootin the 130core lokt r cheaper?? generally.. an you can plink away also, which i dont with mine

I have to admit every 270 I have hunted with was borrowed from an experienced hunter. I have never fired a bad 270 round. Most popular are the 130 gr soft points. Every time I used a 270 it was one shot one kill.
