Default Preference of cleaning

I've seen/heard a lot of different ways that people go about cleaning different guns. What's your habit/preferred method...thought this could be a good thread.

I use Hoppe's oil on blued steel as it seems to cling well and I usually shoot some RemOil into the moving parts as the lighterweight synthetic should not inhibit motion or gum up...

Different guns benefit from different methods.

I normally use Shooter's Choice solvent for pstols and low to medium velocity rifles. Hoppe's is excellent as well.

For high velocity rifles, I like the Outer's electrochemical kit, and/or Sweet's 7.62, followed by normal cleaning with Shooter's Choice.

IMHO, phosphor bronze or nylon bore brushes are almost essential. Aerosol "Gun Scrubber" is a great cleaner/degreaser, but leaves the metal dry, and lubrication must follow it's use.

I'm just a po' boy, and I don't have much time.

I use brush cleaner mineral solvent for barrel cleaning.

In between, on barrels and internal parts, it's ATF.

These two products alone cut my cleaning time by 80%.

Mobil1 for external metal.

(separately)
Vinegar, janitors ammonia, and Dawn for fouled barrels.

ATF every 10 shots or so, for rifles, at the range...

WIPEOUT is an awesome bore cleaner. spray, run a patch, done.

otherwise its the norm stuff....hoppes, clp, rem oil, etc.

i still don't know the best way to clean and lube my AR. people have been very helpful when i ask...but the problem has been.....if i get 50 posters instructing me how to clean my AR, i get 50 different ways to clean it (with about 25 different products recommended)....lol
