Pre 64 Identification?

I just aquired a Winchester .264 mag. model 70. How do I determine whether or not it's a pre 64' model.

the best i can remember is the pre 64 has 3 screws on the floor plate, been a long time since i've played with one. u might call browning and have them run the numbers for u. good luck

You can look at Wiki
Or here is a winchester serial number lookup that may help you.

Darn, 1965 manufacture date. Inherited it. I did kill an antelope with it 10 years ago when I borrowed it. still a great gun and cartridge.

My grandfather gave it to me last month ,a Buffalo Bill commemorative model 94 30-30 also. He was who got me interested in hunting and fishing when I was young. He's getting too old for hunting now.

Inherited firearms are the best! I got a model 70 from my father after he died. It was the first rifle that I ever hunted with.
