Ha! I just took one of the primers out and checked if it was still live (face shield, hammer, anvil.) Damned if it didn't go bang! These things are turning green and had been stored in a carport for the past 40 years or so. To the best of my estimation are probably 40 to 50 years old. Little cardboard box with a wooden tray inside, primers are on edge in the slots. Printed on the box is this:

100 PRIMERS CAL .30 No. 26
DWG A-131
EX ORDER 3208 M1
Frankford Arsenal
F.A. 5350

I'll post a pic of them as well. There is also a box of 1000 shotgun primers in the stuff too, unopened.

Oh, it is a couple of tons of metal. Gotta cut it up and sort through it all. Not even worth the time for the scrap value really. Probably pay for the fuel to drive it down to the recycler if I'm lucky. There's no money in it for me, I'm just doing it as a favor to her for turning me on to the guns!

I will be giving her a lot of chestnuts. She loves them and comes by a couple of times a week during the season (I grow them). That and I am going to have my sons go by and split a pile of firewood for her. I'm going to pay it down in other ways.

BTW, your primers were made in the 53rd week of 1950. IIRC, all US primers EXCEPT M1 carbine primers were corrosive until at least 1952. You may want to clean rifle after shooting those as if they WERE corrosives.

OK. Just got home- now for the pics. The first few are of the 45/70 (the one I am most excited about). I noticed the rear sight is bent pretty bad on it. I'll have to straighten it. It weighs 8.75 lbs.
