Ok I think I may leave the metal.
I am thinking this is the rifle.
Savage action
Douglass 260 barrel from Sharp Shooters Supply.
Rifle Basix trigger
Stockade Woodchuck stock in green with black webbing.
Warne 1-Piece Tactical Picatinny base
Leupold 30mm Mark 4 Picatinny
Leupold vx-3L 4.5-15x56mm
or
IOR Valdada 4-14x50mm with the Ill 4a dot
All told we are looking at just under $2500 for all this. Plus some go no go gauges for installing the barrel. and maybe on of them fancy smancy scope ring grinder thingies.

I think the stainless metal will look great with the stock colour that is in the picture. Also, the contrast between the matte black scope, silver action and barrel and dark painted stock will make for an excellent looking rifle.

They are but I want some dam good glass on top of this baby.
I would go with a Nikon but I can't find what I want in a nikon
Ziess has a few scopes I am also looking at. Seeing as I may go with a silver scope to match the SS action and barrel.
Ziess Zeiss 4.5-14x50AO MC Conquest Hunting Turret Rifle Scope Stainless Finish w/ #20 Reticle 5214929920 FREE S&H 5214929920. Zeiss Riflescopes.
Might even go Nightforce. NightForce 3.5-15x50 NXS Tactical Illuminated Reticle Riflescopes-Mil-Dot, NP-R1, NP-1, MLR Retickes FREE S&H NXS1550-MIL-DOT, NXS1550-MLR, NXS1550-NP-1, NXS1550-NP-1RR, NXS1550-NP-2DD, NXS1550-NP-R1,
