To paint or not to paint, that is the question

I have painted a few firearms in my day, usually with OK results. But I am on the fence with this one. I kind of like the way she looks, but I kinda want to throw a hillbilly K coat on her too. Wont do it for a while, still have some work to get done on her yet, but up for consideration. Anybody else had to make the choice and either regretted it or glad you did it?

what color or colors are you thinking. ive got almost the same problem i just cant decide what color scheme to go with.

1) That's a good looking stick you got there.

2) Don't paint it. Unless you are going on a creep anytime soon, there is no reason to mess with such a work of art.

My suggestion....leave it as is...but add something to it more Camo like.

Drape or cut out a hoakie as I like to call it to drap the firearm in...gives it that sit and wait in the bush kind of look to it.

Thanks brother. Nope, no creepin' for me, just for fun!

As you can see I took your advice on the stock, really happy with it so far. Good fit, no issues and about a quarter the cost of what I originally wanted. Paid fo rthe can tax anyway.

Maybe ill leave her black until I get the Surgeon built and then paint her up! :p

Nothing wrong with basic black on a weapon lack that in my eyes.

Looks like you had the stock handle replaced with the aftermarket tactical knob. I like that choice.

I was wondering about that turned down front end - .308 with a can I was guessing. She looks like a short action with a 24" ( ?? ) or so barrel?

It's a good looking configuration and that stock is definitely a good choice. I am glad that you are happy with it and I didn't steer you wrong. *relief smiley*

You are definitely welcome in my foxhole when the Space Zombies start walking the Earth. :D

It was the work by GA Precision; badger tactical handle and the thread. Again, highly recommend them.

You are correct, 308, but 20" bbl. Shoots better than I can, no delusions of grandeur here. Waiting on the Omega to clear ATF, taking FOR-EV-ER! My first one, but my best bud who is a dealer did all the xfer paperwork setup so it was painless (for me!).

I would have guessed Badger Ord - they are a good company & a great choice on your part.

20" and a suppressor is IDEAL for a .308 in my opinion. That is the PERFECT urban combat piece. I have a design on getting a can for mine once I get it re-barreled in the spring.

All in All, I would give that piece of kit 10 out of 10 in application, fit and finish. Assuming of course you can hit anything with it. :D

I just have a hard time understanding painting rifles camo unless you're going to be doing a lot of "snooping and pooping". We always added enviroment specific camo at the time anyway so generic camo didn't mean much. Also when being used in "civvie" mode,if you're doing everything right-the most they'll see is a funny looking tiny black donut blooming fire.
