I then took the darker tan and gave it some uneven stripes for depth. Pretty much even amounts of dark and light tan.
Now for the fun part. Acquire some pine straw from your local wooded area. If none is available, i've seen the straw from a broom works well(once again, ask the wife before you go hacking up the family broom), or any leaf or branch you wish.
Hold your pine straw against your rifle and very lightly spray a darker color of your choice. I started with the brown and then moved on to green. This is where you can choose how dark or how light your rifle will be by how much you spray. Easy does it, a little of the dark goes a long way. Its easier to start light and then go darker than visa versa.
You can leave the rifle just like this(as seen in this pic with my son) but i chose to give it a coat of matte clear to toughen it up a bit.
