The Edge runs at a higher velocity than the Lapua.

Wow, how did we miss the 35 Whelen?
It's another of my favorites as well.

Some of my favorites are 45acp, 45Colt, 45-70, 458Winchester Magnum.

Yes at one time all were wildcats

The .45 ACP was designed for the 1911 pistol by J.Browning. The .45 Colt designed by Colt for the U.S. Army. The 45-70 Gvt. designed at Springfield Armory to fit reconditioned CW muskets.
These were never Wildcatted before their introduction. wildcats are Ctgs. designed from existing cases in order to improve them. These were all new Ctgs. designed for new Ctg. firing arms of the day.
All of these rounds have been Wildcatted over the years. I really like the Wildcat .45ACP known as the .460 Rowland. The .45 Colt Wildcat the .454 Casull made it all the way to OTC status.

Both the .458 Win. Mag. & the .454 Casull have parent cases making the wildcat cartridges..................

the 35 Whelen wasn't missed, just not metioned because there are so many cartridges based off the 30-06! almost enough, that to write a book about them, would end up the size of a New York phone directory!

some more, the 6.5mm-06, of course the fantastic 35 Whelen, the 338-06 and many more. then there are the further descendents like the 243, which is a 308 necked down to a 6mm, which we all know the 308 is a shortened 30-06! so many! the 30-06 is the father and grandfather of many cartridges that have been made into factory chamberings and ammo. ahhh the classic 30-06!
