very similar. going by bullet coeffecient and using the same type and weight of bullets, and basing the bullet drop in inches from the velocity, they tend to show that they are very, very close.

using Noslers reloading data, the difference in velocity actually is 100 fps or less. some loads depending on powder used, the 6.5-06 is faster by a margin and some powders the 264 is faster by a margin.

the biggest difference i see is that the 6.5-06 is based from the 30-06 case and the 264 is based on a magnum case and the 264 takes more powder to achieve the very similar results. down range the 264 will have an advantage due to a little better energy at a couple hundred ft. lbs. using the same weight bullets.

OK, the 6.5-06 then, or the .25/303

The .240 Cobre was used for years in rebored .220 Swift barrels that gave out. The .240 was a 6MM based on the Swift Case. Interesting over 100 years ago the Swift was the 6MM Lee Navy Ctg.

I like the 25 Souper, (.308 Win necked down to .257).
Excellent deer round.
