Shoots a little flater with a little more energy than the 30-06. Comparing the 160 grain in the 7Mag against the 165 Grain in the 30-06, you gain a little trajectory and perhaps a couple hundred foot pounds of energy at 300 yards.
I got Rem 7mm, look in my gallery. I haven't had any problems at all. I've fired about 30 rounds between 50 yards and maybe 200 yards ( I was out in the woods). it's very accurate. But I'm goin say the recoil is kickin'. I have it to hunt with, not shoot at the range. I paid bout $ with 600.00 for it with scope.
I agree with other posts. It is a great caliber, that shoots slightly flatter than the 30-06 and hits a little harder (160 grain 7MM (vs.) 165 grain 30-06). Recoil is similar. The 30-06 surpasses it in bullet diameter and weight, however I doubt many game animals could tell the difference on which one they were hit with, if you could take a survey after the shot.
