marlin 336 what?
There are many variations of marlin 336 with a range of values. For an exact answer you need more info. Is it a 336A or a 336Y or any model in between?

The 35 remington looks about the same as the 30-30 on paper as far as energy, but it makes a bigger hole with more penetration. Ammo is harder to find in stores, but I see it around enough. Recoil is about the same as a 30-30, a mild push. The marlin lever is a fine firearm. You shouldn't be dissapointed

The 336 line up in used guns are all in a general price range, they are not high collector value guns period. As said $300 to $350 if its 80 to 85%. Also note a gun is only worth what someone will pay for it. Some try to get retail for them an they sit forever, those that sell are in real world gun prices. MARLINMAN I TRIED TO PM U BUT IT SAYS YOUR BOX IS FULL????

If I remember right that serial number was made in about 1951. there can be many things that can effect the reasonable price for any gun. the 300 to 350 is most likely about right. Those that early were not drilled and tapped for scope mounting(though this was done to many). they were tapped for receiver sights.
