I don't care who the passengers were on the plane. Shooting down a civilian aircraft is just plain wrong. If it was done by Ukrainian, Russian Separatists, with equipment supplied by the Russians, with too little instruction to differentiate peaceful aircraft from war planes. Then the fault still goes to Russia.

While I think sanctions will accomplish little, I won't buy Russian products.

To AK fans: there are other avenues for getting an AK and ammo for it.

Arsenal AKs are built in Las Vegas. It may still be a Bulgarian company, but the jobs are US.

Many companies use China just to get a product to market as cheap as possible, and they also don't give the Chinese a high standard to uphold in the process, because they want higher profit margin.

Vortex optics are manufactured in China, but to a higher standard than some if the other competing companies optics that are also made there, like BSA, or Barska.

Fender guitars come in different levels. Some are entry level made in China and don't have the same quality hardware and wood, they have to meet a certain standard though, and are ok and these are branded as Squire guitars by Fender. Then they have a higher level if guitar in the Modern Player line. These are built to higher standards and even get to use the Fender name. Then the Mexican made Fenders use mostly US parts but rely in cheaper labor for finishing and assembly, these are Fender Standards. Then the US built guitars are offered as American Special and American Standard, Deluxe and Custom. Each gets more costly as you go, and it is the QA that makes a lot if the difference. The Chinese modern players are very good guitars for the money compared to guitars from 15 years ago, from China.

Just saying, don't discount China's ability to produce good products. Up until the last couple of decades, nobody asked them to produce quality, they just asked for cheap.
You may have missed the "moving parts" comment.

The Chinese also have a serious credibility problem. They have a track record of exporting contaminated and falsified food products. As a footnote, I don't trust their sanitary habits either. They also lie in our collective face, support our enemies, cheat in the currency market, and steal from us any chance they get.

If anyone has $35K for a genuine Chinese Volvo, they can go right ahead. They probably voted Democrat anyway.
