I'm gonna be ill! It is a huge pile of sh!t IMHO. Best of luck.

Well I just got two very nice suprises complements of my grandmother and boss. My grandmother came over briefly and gave me my late grandfather's Lee Enfield he brought back from WWII. My boss and I are very good friends and we got to talking about some of our current stock (he is the owner of my favorite gunshop which is where I work), and he brought up the Springfield Trapdoor that's been in the shop for several years (which is the one that I really want). He said, "Ya know that old Trapdoor that's been in the shop for years? Well, I know that you have a great affection for it, and passion for military firearms. So I talked with the guys and we decided to give her away." So we went out to his car and he opened up the trunk and there it was and he said, "She's all yours now". I just about cried when he said that.

Good For You! For someone to do that shows allot about your character, and the respect they have for you!

Thank you. One of the guys at work happens to load 45-70, and he said he'll load up some very mild blackpowder cartridges for me. The first thing I did with it once my boss left to go home was fondle it and make a spot for her in my gun safe right next to my Remington Sportsman 58. I'm really looking forward to taking her apart later today, and shooting her later this week .

Regarding my next purchase I've decided instead of going for the Ruger Mini 14 I'm going to continue looking at some of the local shops, and see if I can find a Wasr 10/63 and if so that's probably what I'm going to end up purchasing.

Just want to update how shooting the Springfield Trapdoor turned out. I went to my cousin's yesturday with my wife to try it out. We set up a steel target about 100 yards away. I let my wife shoot it first since she loves military firearms as much as I do, and she nailed the target on the first shot . So I tried it and got the same results. We then moved the target out to 150 and we both hit it. So we gradually kept moving it out, and stopped at 320 yards. Both of us hit it, but at that distance our shots were not always hitting .

I've got to say I love that rifle almost as much as my wife, and for a rifle made in 1886 she is very functional.

I'd skip the Mini14, the whole reason the TV Show A-Team used 'em, was that you could empty an entire mag and never hit your target
