M looking for a new a new varmint and predator rifle. Iv narrowed my calibers to the 6.5 creedmore, the 6.5x284, 6.5x55, the 204, and the 17 hornet. Any suggestions advice or experience would be appreciated.

depending on the size of varmint might factor into caliber selection for the intended rifle. of all listed, the 204 Ruger, is the one i have some experiance with. very fast, very accurate and virtually no recoil. the 17 Hornet is still new, and so far from what i have read, looks to be very interesting and one i want to check out personally. both the of the 6.5's listed have excellent downrange ballistics, but depends on what size critter you are going after. but both could still be viable options though.

Sabre Defence use to offer an upper in 204 Ruger for the AR. MidwayUSA listed it for $699 IIRC.

I think the 6.5's are quite often over looked as a vermin hunter. You might want to look at the old 6.5x55. I reload and 100gr SP are very accurate, 87-89gr not so much. W/ a 100gr at 3000fps it is a 500 yard shooter. The drop is well within a normal scopes range w/ standard bases.

Yeah the 6.5X55 was also one I was looking at and forgot to add.
