Why not get a .44-40 or .45LC Lever gun? My 24" 1892 clone is very accurate. It is a .44-40. If you look at the data you can add 500fps because of the barrel length.

I was thinking of a 357 Maximum. Possibly a trimmed 444. Maybe just go with one of the big pistol cartridges like the 454 Casull.

I am no lever gun fan, even though I've had a 94 Big Bore .307, a .30-30 Canadian centennial, and three 9422M's. Oh yeah, I had a Marlin 1894 .44 mag also.

My dad is a .45 LC fan, but I hate the cartridge, as I do .223 and .357. Just don't like 'em.

Have had several .44 mag handguns and taken deer, was fun. Even used my dad's 1966 Ruger Sporter auto in .44 mag to blast one. Cool rig. If I want to run a straight walled "pistol" type of round that's what I'd use.

I want some form of bullet uspet and an honest 200 yard rig. So that leaves me to play on the other side of what's what. Might get it, might not, intent is to drive 180 gr single shot pistol bullets as fast as I can. Think the 16.25 inch bbl will keep them down a bit.

WOW! That is a 16.25" barrel? That thing looks handy! Very sweet indeed.

It's dang light, so followthrough is going to be picky (if one wants to shoot tight groups out a ways).
Hope to get it to the range this coming weekend.
