I saw the new ruger scout ...any extra info would be appreciated ..2 questions. #1 Can one mount scope in the traditional way ...not ''scout ''forward ? #2 does it come in a left handed version?

To answer question no.1, yes, you can mount the scope traditionally over the receiver. Question no.2, I'm not so sure about.

I highly recommend the little Scout. Light and handy. Shoots great. And for me it pointed perfectly.
