Default New to rifles

Hello Everyone, I am mainly a pistol person that is why I have come to this section for some help. I have always wanted another 30-30 lever action rifle. When I was younger I had a Marlin for deer hunting that I did not do that often but it was burnt up in a fire. But I would like to get back to shooting a lever action for target shooting and maybe the occasional deer hunt. Are there any brands that any of you prefer that I should take a look at. I would like to keep it around $500-$750 since I will not use it allot. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Ed

Marlin or Winchester would be the way to go.
There are tons of them used, and you can get them pretty cheap if you look around.

Recently bought a new Rossi for under 400. Works great and you can't beat the price.

I second Marlin or Winchester, I have 2 Winchesters for me that's the way to go, Marlins are nice but I've never had one.

Marlin or Winchester. Definitely

The Winchester 94 is pretty much the standard that lever guns are judged by.
