Default Need Suggestions For .357 Lever Carbine

Hello all,

Through various conversations I am trying to narrow down my choices for possible gun purchases and obe of the suggestions was for a lever rifle that will take .357 ammo.

So I am in need of suggestions for one that you feel is a quality gun that can be used as a hunting rifle.

Marlin 1894C or Winchester 1894 angle eject. Both will take optics.

So about $1300 or so. Is that a typical price for a lever gun?

Marlin 1894C should run $500 to $600. MSRP is about$700.

I have a Rossi M92 Saddle-Ring Carbine in .357 Mag. that I've had a bunch of fun shooting over the years. It's light & accurate and cycles flawlessly. I use 158 gr. bullets and get between 1800 and 2000 fps out of the 20 inch barrel. I think they go for $400 to $600 these days.

I like the Rossi '92 as well. To make one better, look up "Nate Kiowa Jones" on Google, and get his video. If it is in the budget, send it to him, telling him what you want. He does a lot of work for the Cowboy Action Shooting crowd. I have one of his '92s and the difference between it and a NIB is amazing.
