Need some info on a Winchester model 64

Does any one know anything about the winchester model 64? My friends trying to sell me one chambered in 30-30 for $375, I'm wondering if its worth it. It was made in 1953 and it's missing the front sight but has scope mount on top. Blue is about 98% but it wont let me upload a pic.

I'm assuming you have a 24" barrel? Bluebook sez:

98% $1000
90% $750
70% $600
50% $500

Subtract 50% for the scope mount holes.
Add 100% if it happens to be a 20" "carbine".

You have to decide condition. A true 98% gun is rare--you would have
to look hard to tell it from new. Bluebook prices are retail.

So the scope being on top subtracts quite a bit? Yah it has a few scracthes very small other then the bluing is perfect. I have no idea size of berral length.

winchester model 64

For a 1953 model for $375. I would go for it. The front site can be fixed by a good gunsmith.

I passed up a '64 for $450 a few years ago and bought the jacked up '94 next to it for a lot less, and have always regretted not buying the '64.

Don't make the same mistake I did.
