the Circuit Judge is neither a CASS or a hunting gun. have you seen one?

Axxe I think that's his point. We were talking about levers earlier. Someone said the OP could get a lever and dual-hat it in CASS and hunting. We strayed from the Circuit Judge, brother.

It was time for a new signature. This is what you get.

I have to agree with all the above posters. Even though the Circut Judge is a good gun for close up shooting, it's not the Ideal caliber for Deer and other big game. It's a good "emergency" Gun however, and the 45LC can be loaded for Small and some medium game. I hope this year to get both the carbine and the 6.5", to have as an extra contingency for home defense...
The Carbine in 45LC/.410 is a good camp gun. They also make it in 22LR/22mag.( if you can find it). Saw 2 for sale by the same seller at last weekend's local Gun Show here,...$569 for the 45/.410 and $479 for the 22 variant..

i just can't see the Circuit Judge fitting into any role, as a pistol or rifle. kind of like a dual purpose motorcycle. too light and not fast enough for the highway, but too heavy and bulky and poor handling in the dirt.

the lever action, yes on hunting or CASS.

the Circuit Judge, no on both counts.

For hunting deer I would have her look into a LH bolt action sporter rifle chambered in 243win. 260 rem,or a 7mm-08 in short actions, long action cartridges the 25-06 or 270 would be a good choice since she handled your 30-06.

I bought my Son a 7mm-08 about 15 years ago,and am really impressed with the cartridge.

One lever action caliber that is usable for both humane deer hunting and CAS is the 44-40
