Default Need help identifying this rifle

The only number or engravings i can find is s/270. i found this in a old home on my property and would like to find out what is is. also as you can see in the images the barrel has two step downs in diamiter.

Please help if you can. thanks,

Just went back and looked and that is a s/27G not 270.

Ive been doing more research and it seems to be a ERMA s/27G
I cant find hardly anything about them besides the year they was made.

You have a Mauser 98 made by Erfurter Maschinenfabriken in Erfurt, Thuringia. Founded about 1922 or 1924, they made a lot of weapons, including submachine guns and rifles. When WW 2 end the owner was arrested for war crimes. Erfurt was in the Soviet zone- they hauled the factory off. Owner resumed business in about 1949 in the US sector- think they are gone now.

is this a rare model cause i cannot find anything on this in particular rifle. only how many was made which is between 3000
and 4000 and the year

It kind of looks like a old British 303 with a spring loaded bolt!'

What C3 stated is correct. Are you sure it is 270?? not 27G ?? It is a military K98k barreled action from the early to mid 1930's.
