Well im not worried about recoil so much as power and bullet performance. I know 30-06 is the best all around caliber but whats second? Power and accuracy is my main concern.

I like the 30-06 and the .308. Spend some money on a match barrel and a good scope. Make sure you get off the bench and practice off hand for your hunting.

With that kind of money into a 30-06 are they capable or being able to consistly put rounds in the same hole?

most any caliber is plenty capable if you have a good barrel and proper ammo. even with the 22" sporter barrel on my old Remington M700 in 30-06 will drive bullets into one hole with my handloads. downside is that sporter barrels heat up quicker and heat can affect repeatable shots.

Oh ok. I'm not able to reload currently. But my best bet would to stick with one brand and grains of ammo correct? Is there anything more powerful then the 300mag? I mean besides a 50bmg witch id have if I could aford the gun lol.

How much money do you have to work with? Are you wanting to spend money on a high priced gun or are you wanting more of a hunting rifle that you can put a military type scope on and maybe a bipod on and just shoot for the fun of it.
