Jeez, I love my Howa, but that looks like a fat chic w/ too much lipstick! It may work out well, I hope.

Hey, thanks, I wasn't going for style points. I got it to serve a function and to be durable, and I think it will.

Let us know how she shoots. That 22-250 round is also known for it's accuracy and right at 3810 fps as I recall? That is D--- Fast and Flat!

I was really surprised in a good way at the trigger from the factory. The load I was shooting was rated at 3736 fps, which is plenty for my needs. I'll try to get a range report up some time.

Lon,

That will be great! Looking forward to seeing the groups. What brand ammunition and grain are you shooting?

Tell Mr. P if he doesn't like the lipstick maybe you could get her another color!

Nosler BT 55-grain and 39.5 grains of H380.

Hogs, coons, possums, and Nutria aren't gonna know what color the stock was!

Won't help you in Texas, but here in mid Tenn., my lgs has Weatherby Vanguards in all calibers for $444. Different barrel lengths, all weather stocks.
At this price, rifle configurations, and Weatherby, how can you go wrong?
Check around your local stores.

You got that right.

Not to change the subject but I saw today on the Outdoor Channel that Federal is now making 123 Gr. A-Max Bullets for my 6.5 Grendel. And they had an interesting comment that it had the same wind bucking power as the 308. And the same energy at 300 yards as the 5.56 does at 100. I reload so it will not really effect me. But it is nice to know that there is someone beside Bill Alexander at Beowulf and Less making rounds for them. It is a good round.

Good luck with the new rifle! I like it! And that stock is easy to Camo if you ever wanted to do it later on!

I have had good luck with all of my Remingtons for more than 30 years. I have never even shot a "lemon" Remington in all those years.
