Yep, these guys won't steer ya wrong...

IMHO the Mosins are like .22's, every gun owner should have one...

Built like tanks and will outlive you if you take care of it...

The surplus ammo is dirt cheap but corrosive, nothing a little hot soapy water can't fix...

They have a 'cool factor' to them as they are a big part of history...

They are addictive as all getout, if you buy one I guarantee you it won't be your last...

Only bad thing is that our beloved gubmint is trying to block importation of them so they may or may not be as readily available in the future. IIRC they are being destroyed in Europe as we speak...

And if you DON'T get one, ima kick you right square in the nutz!!!

Here's a great source of reliable info...

.46 a round? Did ammo prices spike on it too? I bought a 440 rd spam can of it for $90 shipped earlier this year. It was only .20 a round.

check you math...that should be about 18 cents per round, assuming 440 rounds for $80

Here is some but it is back ordered until March.

edit:

I did just notice the "corrosive" ammo comes in about 23 cents a round - never used corrosive ammo before ... I'm assuming as long as you strip your rifle after use, it's no problem at all?

Yep, just hot soapy water then clean like normal with oil...

I think I read once the soldiers used to pee down the bbl to clean it in the field...so you have that option too!!
