Stamped 1939 and in excellent condition. I was able to get most of the grease off and oil it up. The 7.62 round is truly large.

Looks great. I shot one at the range a week or two ago, I think I'll get one, too.

Nice looking rifle...but when you say most of the cosmoline what exactly do you mean. Did you disassemble the action and clean out the bore and chamber? Not trying to bust your hump but the barrel will have enough cosmo in it to cause a blockage...not good with that round. :eek: Cosmo in the chamber will ultimately lead to sticky bolt syndrome...http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinCleaning.htm

The rifle was completely disassembled and stripped of the cosmoline. The bolt and barrel are clean as a whistle.

Are they any special tools you needed to disassembly?

Nope! Did it come with multi tool!

Just a flat blade screwdriver and a pin punch although a C-clamp is helpful to reassemble the sight leaf back into the mounting bracket, that pin is a b**ch under tension.
