Default My first Savage

Picked it up yesterday. It's a 308. Pretty excited!

Looks like a 10FCP with the HS Precision stock.
Nice rifle. Now you just need to put a good optics set-up on it,and air it out!

Correct! I have a vortex viper PST sitting on my 788 I am going to put on it. I have an EGW standard cant pic for it. Think I will be happy with it? I would like to shoot 800 yards max.

Sounds like a good setup! Whats it chambered for? And if I may ask, how much did it set you back?

$800 seems kinda steep (to me) but thats not a cheap stock so maybe it evens out. At 800 yds, the targets arent gonna care what color the stock is. No doubt it'll reach out there just fine too. Congrats on the rifle.

Dunno if 800 is steep or not. $1230.00 was the suggested retail price of the gun.

Sounds like you got a deal then. I dont keep up on Savage prices, and you hadnt said if it was new or used.

It was used. I priced this exact gun through many sources before I bought it. I found a lot for around the 900 dollar and up mark. The gent o bought it from wanted 900 and I talked him down. He was trying to sell it for a while.

Any idea what ya wanna feed it? Are you limited to store bought or do you load your own? Theres tons of good hansloads for a .308, everybody has a load to mention. Factory stuff is, well, i really cant comment there, I dont buy it. Even Black Hills Match and Fed Gold Metal Match leave a little to be desired.
