Best Bolt Action Rifle of WWII - VIDEO
I've fired and used a lot of bolt action military surplus rifles, but above them all, and I mean, way, way, way above them all is the Lee-Enfield rifle. Why do I say that? Four reasons:
  1. Rugged and heavy, helps mitigate recoil tremendously.
  2. Fantastic stock trigger, better than any others.
  3. Large capacity magazine, ten rounds.
  4. Incredibly fast and smooth bolt cycling.
  5. And, finally, the sights: just incredibly good!

Here is the video I've been wanting to put together and finally got around to it, first, a close look at the Lee-Enfield I own, a No. 4, Mk1* and then following that close look and background on the Lee-Enfield, shooting and function demonstrations from the gun club:

OP you are using the wrong rifle in your avatar!:D
I just got an Enfield No4 Mk2 and like it a lot. Plus, lately it's about the only rifle you can get ammo for.

Both the Canadian "Longbranch" No.4 MKl asnd the Australian "Lithgow" No1 Mklll.

I've owned 6 Enfields over the years, but never owned one made in England!

Got this No.4 MKII at a gun show B4 Christmas. Manufactured in 1949 at Fazakerley U.K. as one of the first 100K post WWII. FTR 1953.
The mag was made in Fazakerley but, different Ser.#. Sling stamped 1949 and a spike bayonet by Savage Arms.
Shoots 4 M.O.A. with my reloads, but the shooter has to get used to the large peep.
